Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time entry level LAND SURVEYOR in our Dixon, Illinois office.  The position includes the opportunity to experience work on a diverse workload of projects within our growing company.  Candidates for this position shall be a dynamic motivated individual and meet the following minimum position requirements:

  • Education: BS Degree in Land Surveying or a BS Degree with 24 semester hours of Land Surveying courses.
  • A strong working knowledge of surveying equipment, GPS, robotic total stations and e-levels.
  • Knowledge of computer-based drafting and design applications, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Microstation/Geopak.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

Exceptional candidates would also have:

  • Surveyor-in-Training License in Illinois.
  • Knowledge of topographic, boundary, traverse and construction layout surveys.
  • Experience with IDOT topographic survey codes.

Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time Entry Level Civil Engineer in our Dixon, Illinois office.  Our projects include working with IDOT, local government agencies, contractors, and private clients providing planning, design, and construction phase services for transportation and building projects. The position includes the opportunity to experience work on a diverse workload of projects with our growing company.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the ideal candidate will:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Prepare, modify, and check site and roadway design elements, plans, and computations for; geometrics, cross sections, stormwater drainage design, pavement marking, and traffic control

Candidates for this position shall meet the following minimum position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Access
  • Possess 0-4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, flexibility to adjust as project workload demands change, and the ability to work independently

Preferred assets:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
  • Knowledge of industry standard computer software, including: CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, Microstation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models

Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time Engineering Technician in our Dixon, Illinois office.  Our projects include working with IDOT, local government agencies, contractors, and private clients providing planning, design, and construction phase services for transportation and building projects. The position includes the opportunity to experience work on a diverse workload of projects with our growing company.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with CADD drawings
  • Assisting with report writing
  • Performing a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff, activities may include assisting with engineering calculations and plan preparation, and construction inspection duties

Candidates for this position shall meet the following minimum position requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of CADD (Microstation and/or AutoCAD) software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in roadway and highway survey, design and construction administration
  • Ability to work in a team environment, flexibility to adjust as project workload demands change, and the ability to work independently

Preferred assets:

  • Associated Degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or CAD Drafting
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of alignments, profiles corridors and surfaces
  • Knowledge in field survey and/or construction observation
