Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. is an established professional design firm providing civil engineering, structural engineering, land planning, and land surveying services to public and private clients in northern Illinois since 1968.  We are looking for a full-time Professional Land Surveyor for the position of DIRECTOR OF SURVEYS in our Dixon, Illinois office.  This position has future ownership potential.

Candidates for this position shall meet the following requirements:

  • Licensed PLS in the State of Illinois
  • Minimum of 10 years of land survey experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage clients
  • Experience in project management, proposal writing, and cost estimating
  • Ability to oversee, manage, and direct the product produced by the Survey Department; provide assistance and guidance to staff; and trouble shoot when necessary.
  • Understanding of MicroStation/Geopak & AutoCAD
  • Valid driver’s license

land surveyor

Wendler Engineering Services, Inc. is looking for a dynamic motivated individual for a full-time PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR or SURVEYOR-IN-TRAINING position in our Dixon, Illinois office.  The position includes the opportunity to experience work on a diverse workload of projects within our growing company.  This position has future ownership potential.

Candidates for this position shall meet the following minimum position requirements:

  • L.S. or S.I.T. with ability to get P.L.S. in Illinois in the near future.
  • A strong working knowledge of surveying equipment, GPS, robotic total stations and digital levels.
  • Experience with IDOT topographic survey codes preferred.
  • Knowledge of topographic, boundary, ALTA, ROW, traverse and construction layout.
  • Excellent sketch and not taking abilities.
  • A strong working knowledge of computer-based drafting and design applications, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Microstation/Geopak, along with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to take on additional responsibilities as assigned and be a self-starter.
  • Experience or familiarity with projects consisting of residential and commercial developments, highway projects, recreational facilities and government agencies is preferred.
  • Experience researching historical records, both at courthouses and on the internet.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
